Are there TV's in the rooms?

Yes.  Most hotels have cable and internet service.  If no internet service is available, it is definitely available in the town at a minimum cost   (top)

How much money should I convert to local currency?

Very little.  One of the beauties of Costa Rica is the fact that they are used to the U.S. and Canadian dollar and thus will give change usually in “colones” , the local currency.  They will also not cheat you in the exchange; they will give you the current bank rate.    (top)
